Sample Phone Scripts for Closing Your Insurance Leads
You must have been an insurance agent for quite a while and doing a great job on it. Although you may find it easy to pitch with leads/prospects gathered through referrals, the words used on internet-generated lead are a whole different nine yards. These are people who do not have enough time for a face to face encounter with an agent and would rather purchase insurance over the phone. They are the ones who value convenience and are comfortable doing their insurance shopping at home. You can tweak around your tested sales pitches but net leads works quite differently. Here’s a sample script to guide you.
‘Hello, May I talk to Patrick Pullman?… Hi Patrick, I’m calling about your online health insurance information request. This is Danny Sullivan from MZT Health Insurance Agency by the way. According to the information on my computer screen, it seem like you are looking for a 25-year policy with a $600,000 benefit. Does this sound right?
It is important to first state your reason for calling before introducing yourself. Keep in mind that your kind of customers hates loosing time on unwanted sales pitches. Avoid a “no” answer by emphasizing that you are the person they expecting to give them an insurance information. Then follow it up with:
Is this a good time to go over your request? … Great. Patrick, we have a lot of policies which I can tailor-fit for your liking and I’d be happy to discussed and guide you till you arrive at an informed decision. Life insurance may be complicated for you so if you have any question please go ahead.
If leads start to ask question, you are right on track. If says does not have time.
I understand Patrick. Will it be fine to email you with the information for you to go over on your free time? Keep in mind that after you have gone through it and ready with the decision, I can walk you through finalizing the purchase.
Don’t push it too hard trying to meet them face to face. Give your lead a reasonable time to think things over and set a follow-up phone call instead.
Just take your time with information I’ll be sending you. Will it be ok to call you same time on Friday for any questions you may have?
On your closing spiel, remind them you can be accessed with queries that may pop up before your agreed next phone call.
Thank you for your time Patrick. And if by chance you want to talk about your options, you can call me anytime. Can I leave my phone number and email address in case you need it?
